You will no longer be able to transfer or receive funds using Citibank Global Transfer (CGT) for the following destinations from these dates onwards:

You can still use Citi Mobile^® App or Citibank Online to transfer funds to the Citibank accounts in the above destinations using the following SWIFT codes¹ through Telegraphic Transfer.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I transfer money overseas using Telegraphic Transfer?

You will need to set up a payee by adding ‘Other Overseas Account’. This will require you to enter the payee’s information, including address and bank account details. Bank account details can include a SWIFT code, International Bank Account Number (IBAN) or another Market specific code. If you are unsure, please check with the payee who will be able to confirm with their bank what routing code to use.

From June 24, 2023 onwards, there will be only one option to set up a payee in the affected markets. You will be required to provide the payee’s information, including address and bank account details as per above.

Will all my existing CGT payee details in Citi Mobile^® App and Citibank Online be removed?

Only existing CGT payee details of the affected markets will be removed from Citi Mobile® App and Citibank Online on May 20, 2023. Before then, remember to use the account details you previously used to create CGT payees to create your payees for Telegraphic Transfer in Citi Mobile® App or Citibank Online, together with the corresponding key information and SWIFT code below:

What details do I provide if someone’s transferring money to me from overseas?
To receive an international funds transfer, you will need to provide your account number and Citibank Hong Kong’s SWIFT code (CITIHKAX^*) to the payer. Other key information which may also be required include:

Will Telegraphic Transfer take longer if made on a weekend, a public or bank holiday, or after the cut-off time?
