Pay tax online in a few easy steps

Check your available credit limit:

  1. Log on to Citibank Online Banking at www.citibank.com.hk under "My Citi". Select "Credit Cards" and point to "Credit Limit" to see your available credit limit. If necessary, follow "Steps for increasing your credit limit" to increase your credit limit.

 

Schedule your tax payment:

  1. Select "Payments & Transfers", enter "One-Time Password", choose "Add a New Payee".
  2. Select "Merchants", and choose "99. Tax, Business Registration or Stamp Duty".

  3. Enter the "Shroff Account Number" of your tax bill and "1" for tax payment, then click "Next" to confirm payee registration.

  4. Click "Make Payment/Transfer" on the Add Payee confirmation screen, choose your card account to pay, enter your tax amount, and select your payment date. Then, click "Next" to confirm your payment.

  2. The processing of a tax payment transaction will take at least 4 to 5 working days. The tax payment transaction is subject to Eligible Card account status checking, the available credit limit and the final discretion of Citibank.
  3. Service fee may be charged for each Citi PayAll new setup. The fee will be reflected on “Review & Confirm” page upon payment setup, and it applies to all recurring payments thereafter under the same setup. During the enrollment, Cardholders may choose to pay service fee as shown on the page and earn rewards on the relevant Eligible Card ("basic credit card rewards") subject to the relevant rewards program terms and conditions. Alternatively, Cardholders may choose to enjoy zero service fee but no basic credit card rewards earned from the respective transaction. Transactions with zero service fee will still be eligible for the extra Spending Rebate.

 

“Pay tax and get up to HK$500 Spending Rebate Promotion” Terms and Conditions

  1. Unless otherwise specified, this Promotion is valid from November 1, 2023 till February 29, 2024, both dates inclusive ("Promotion Period"). All payments and Eligible Retail Transactions (as defined in Clause 13) (based on transaction date) must be completed within Promotion Period. For payments through Citi PayAll service, eligibility for the offer is based on Payment Due Date. For future dated, monthly and weekly payments, Payment Due Date must be at least 4 Business days (Monday to Friday, except public holiday, Saturday and Sunday) (“Business Days”) after the date of payment setup. For instant Payment, the Payment Due Date is the same as Payment Setup Date. Capitalised terms and expressions used in these Terms and Conditions shall have the same respective meanings as defined in the Citi PayAll Service Terms and Conditions unless the context requires otherwise.
  2. This Promotion applies to cardholders ("Cardholders") of Citi Prestige Card, Citi PremierMiles Card, Citi Cash Back Card, Citi The Club Credit Card, Citi Rewards Card, Citi Rewards UnionPay Card, Citi HKTVmall Card, Citi Octopus Card, Citi Plus® Credit Card and Citi Clear Card issued by Citibank (Hong Kong) Limited ("Citibank") ("Eligible Cards"). Citi PayAll is not applicable to Citi Rewards UnionPay Card.
  3. This Promotion is only applicable to the Eligible Retail Transactions and the payment of Salaries Tax for the 2022/2023 tax year made with any Eligible Card accounts during the Promotion Period ("Tax Payment"). Payments for Tax Reserve Certificates, Business Registration or Stamp Duty are not applicable.
  4. To be eligible, Cardholders are required to register via one of the following channels within the Promotion Period: (1) via Citi Mobile App OR (2) at citibank.hk/paytax (“Registered Cardholders:”). Principal Cardholders of Eligible Cards are required to register one of the credit card accounts of his/her Eligible Cards ("Registration"). Only the first 15,000 successfully registered Cardholders are eligible to participate in this promotion (“Registered Cardholder”). Upon Registration, all Eligible Card accounts under the same principal Cardholder will be automatically registered. Registration with supplementary card is not accepted.
  5. Citibank will not accept any liability in relation to any loss of rewards / payment delay incurred due to an incorrect information being provided by the Eligible Cardholder (defined below).
  6. Registered Cardholders will be entitled to Spending Rebate (“Spending Rebate”) upon accumulating Eligible Retail Transaction of HK$3,000 or above during the Promotion Period with any Eligible Cards and making accumulated Tax Payment with any Eligible Cards through Citibank Online Banking, Citi PayAll on Citi Mobile App or “Pay Bills” on Citi Mobile App (“Accumulated Tax Payment Amount”) to meet the respective tax payment amount listed below (“Eligible Cardholders”). Each Eligible Cardholder (including the holder of principal and supplementary card(s) under the same Eligible Card account; and/or those holding more than one principal Eligible Cards) is subject to a maximum of HK$500 Spending Rebate throughout the entire Promotion Period. Transactions made with Eligible Card(s) by the same Eligible Cardholder (including all principal and supplementary card(s) of Eligible Cards) will be combined.
  8. The processing of a tax payment transaction will take at least 4 to 5 working days. The tax payment transaction is subject to Eligible Card account status checking, the available credit limit and the final discretion of Citibank.
  9. Service fee may be charged for each Citi PayAll new setup. The fee will be reflected on “Review & Confirm” page upon payment setup, and it applies to all recurring payments thereafter under the same setup.   10. For future dated, monthly and weekly payments, Citi Credit Card will be charged and debited (with handling fee, if any) at least two Business Days prior to the Payment Due Date. In case the payment due date is a public holiday, Saturday or Sunday, the Payment Charged Date will be three Business Days prior to the payment Due date. For instant Payment, Citi Credit Card will be charged on the same day instead, and the Payment Charged Date will be the date of the instant Payment. Tax payment made through PayAll after 3:30 pm (Hong Kong time) on Monday to Friday, or anytime on Saturday, Sunday and Public Holiday will be handled on next Business Day. Cardholders are responsible for making sure their credit limit is sufficient for the Payment. Temporary credit line increase is not applicable for payments through PayAll. Each purpose of payment may subject to a monthly cap, please refer to citibank.hk/PayAll for details.
  11. Cancellation / Changes of the tax payment transaction are not allowed once confirmed. In any circumstances that the tax payment cannot be processed, Citibank is not responsible or liable for any claim or loss, and delay in refund of credit balance from the Inland Revenue Department unless it results from any negligence or willful default on Citibank’s part.
  12. Any unposted, cancelled or reversed Citi PayAll transactions will not be eligible for any rewards or offers under this promotion.
  13. Eligible Retail Transactions include posted retail transactions and monthly installments of newly billed interest free installment plans that are posted during the Promotion Period conducted in Hong Kong or overseas made with any Eligible Card accounts or via Apple Pay, Google Pay or Samsung Pay during the Promotion Period.
    Ineligible Retail Transactions include but not limited to “Dynamic Currency Conversion transactions”, i.e. transactions with conversion from a foreign currency into Hong Kong Dollars involved at the point of the transaction, Octopus Automatic Add Value Service transactions, Octopus Add Value through Mobile Payment such as Apple Pay, purchase of cash vouchers, purchase/add value of gift cards, purchase/reload of stored value cards, traveler’s checks, foreign exchange transactions using Credit Card (for example but not limited to Forex.com, etc.), withdrawal amount/loan amount under the Balance Transfer Program, Cash Conversion Program, “PayLite” Installment Program and “FlexiBill” Installment Program, Quick Cash Installment Program, payment to the Inland Revenue Department, bill payment, utilities bill made with credit card via internet banking or online payment system, all payments made by Citi PayAll, auto payment and recurring transactions, mutual funds payment, fees & charges, insurance transactions, casino transactions, unposted/cancelled/refunded transactions, other unauthorized transactions and fraud and abuse transactions are not eligible for this promotion.
  14. Cardholders who have registered during the Promotion Period and subsequently have their respective Eligible Card(s) replaced, renewed (Inclusive of renewal from Visa Card to a Mastercard), report lost / stolen, all the eligible transactions made on the corresponding newly issued Eligible Card due to the aforementioned scenarios will be automatically combined with the eligible transactions made with the original Eligible Card, with no additional registration required.
  15. Citibank will determine the eligibility of Cardholders to participate in this promotion as well as Eligible Retail Transactions and Accumulated Tax Payment Amount based on Citibank's record and at the sole and absolute discretion of Citibank. If transactions are confirmed to be qualified for Spending Rebate rewarded after verification by Citibank at its sole and absolute discretion, the corresponding Spending Rebate will be automatically credited to the Eligible Card account with the last tax payment completed during the Promotion Period (or the corresponding newly issued Eligible Card as referred to Clause 14) and shown in the monthly statement on or before April 30, 2024.
  16. Citi PayAll Service Terms and Conditions apply to all payments through Citi PayAll service.
  17. Registered Cardholders’ Eligible Card accounts must be valid and with good credit record during the Promotion Period and at the time of receiving the Spending Rebate in order to be eligible to receive any Spending Rebate otherwise Citibank reserves the right to forfeit the Spending Rebate without prior notice.
  18. Cardholders must keep and submit the relevant original credit card sales slips and original merchant sales receipts in respect of the Eligible Retail Transactions for inspection upon request by Citibank. All documents submitted to Citibank will not be returned.
  19. In case of any fraud/abuse/reversal or cancellation of transactions in respect of which the Spending Rebate was awarded, Citibank reserves the right to debit the amount from the same or other Citi Credit Card account(s) without prior notice.
  20. Citibank reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions or withdraw or terminate this promotion at its discretion without prior notice and Citibank accepts no liability for such amendment, withdrawal or termination. All matters and disputes are subject to the final decision of Citibank.
  21. In the event of any discrepancy between the English and Chinese versions of these terms and conditions, the English version shall prevail. If there is any discrepancy between the promotional materials and these terms and conditions, these terms and conditions shall apply and prevail.
  22. No person other than eligible Cardholders and Citibank will have any right under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Ordinance to enforce or enjoy the benefit of these terms and conditions.
  23. These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

 

Terms & Conditions of “Credit Card Credit Limit Increase Shopping Vouchers Offer”:

To be entitled to the Promotion, Eligible Cardholders are required to make successful registration once via one of the following channels within the Promotion Period: (1) register at citibank.hk/paytax; OR (2) register “Pay tax and get up to HK$500 Spending Rebate Promotion” via Citi Mobile® App (“Registered Eligible Cardholders”). Only the first 15,000 successful registrants are eligible to participate in this promotion.   5. Registered Eligible Cardholders who apply through Citibank online website or Citi Mobile® App or CitiPhone Banking Hotline, successfully increase the Principal Credit Card credit limit within the Promotion Period (“Designated Cardholders”), and upon accumulating Eligible Retail Transaction of HK$3,000 or above during the Promotion Period with any Eligible Cards will be entitled to HK$150 Wellcome Supermarket Shopping Vouchers (“Shopping Vouchers”). All Eligible Retail Transactions (for Eligible Retail Transactions definition please refer to the Terms & Conditions of “Pay tax and get up to HK$500 Spending Rebate Promotion”) (based on transaction date) must be completed within Promotion Period.
  6. Each Designated Cardholder will be entitled to receive the Shopping Vouchers once during the entire Promotion Period.
  7. Shopping Vouchers redemption letter will be mailed to the Designated Cardholder’s Hong Kong correspondence address on or before Apr 30, 2024 (“Shopping Vouchers Fulfilment Period”).

Terms and Conditions of “Citi Credit Card ‘FlexiBill’ Installment Program and Citi Credit Card ‘PayLite’ Installment Program up to 2% unlimited rewards”:

  1. The Promotion is only applicable to selected cardholders (“Selected Cardholders”) of selected Citi Credit Cards (“Eligible Cards”) issued by Citibank (Hong Kong) Limited (“Citibank”) who are offered the Monthly Flat Rate Plan under the Program.
  2. The promotional period is from October 1 to December 31, 2023 (both dates inclusive) (“Promotional Period”). Eligible “FlexiBill” and “PayLite” Installment Loan refers to approved “PayLite” Installment Loans in relation to any individual transaction made by Citibank banking account/ATM/Debit Card and “FlexiBill” and “PayLite” Installment Loan in relation to the Credit Card current statement balance or a portion of the current statement balance or any individual transaction with approved loan amount of HK$3,000 or above and a minimum tenor of 12 months with an Eligible Card within the Promotional Period, and does not include Citi Credit Card “PayLite” Installment Plan for iPhone for Life.
  3. Selected Cardholders who apply successfully for Eligible “FlexiBill” and “PayLite” Installment Loan with an Eligible Card during the Promotional Period and reach an accumulated loan amount of HK$5,000 or above will be entitled to a HK$50 Wellcome Supermarket Shopping Voucher for every HK$5,000 of accumulated loan amount.
