Citi Credit Card Spending Promotion "Winter spending offer with up to 8% extra rebate!" Terms & Conditions:

  1. Promotion period is from November 1, 2023 to February 29, 2024, both dates inclusive
    (“Promotion Period”) . The Promotion Period consists of 4 phases:
    • a. Phase 1: November 1 – November 30, 2023,
    • b. Phase 2: December 1 – December 31, 2023,
    • c. Phase 3: January 1 – January 31, 2024,
    • d. Phase 4: February 1 – February 29, 2024,

    A “phase” is defined as either Phase 1,Phase 2, Phase 3 or Phase 4.

  2. This promotion applies to Cardholders ("Cardholders") of Citi Credit Card (“Citi Credit Card”) issued by Citibank (Hong Kong) Limited (“Citibank”).
  3. Cardholders are required to make successful registration via one of the following channels during the Promotion Period to be eligible for this Promotion ("Eligible Cardholders"): (1) at “citibank.hk/winter-spend-apply”; OR (2) register via Citi Mobile App “Get More” page (“Registration”) in order” to participate in this promotion. Each Cardholder is only required to register once only within the Promotion Period and is not required to register for each Citi Credit Card. Only the first 10,000 successfully registered Cardholders are eligible for this promotion. Registration with a supplementary card is not accepted.
  4. This promotion applies to the Net Transaction Amount which means the final amount of an Eligible Transaction after deduction of all applicable discounts, reductions, and value of cash vouchers (“Net Transaction Amount”). This promotion applies to “Eligible Transactions” (defined below and excludes Ineligible Transactions (as further defined in clause 9 below) made by the Citi Credit Card during the Promotion Period (based on transaction date) with the single Net Transaction Amount of at least HK$500 (or equivalent). Citibank has no obligation to clarify whether a transaction is an Eligible Transaction before the Cardholder conducts such transaction.
  5. Eligible Transaction” includes transactions made at the below designated spending categories with the single Net Transaction Amount of at least HK$500 (or equivalent)
    • a. “Eligible Foreign Currency Transactions at Overseas Physical Store” includes any posted retail transactions in foreign currencies (including Renminbi and Macau Patacas) made at overseas physical stores with the single Net Transaction Amount of at least HK$500 (or equivalent). It excludes transactions made in the United Kingdom or any country participating in the European Economic Area (EEA) or joining after October 19, 2019, including, without limitation, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Republic of Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway (“EEA Participating Countries”).
    • b. “Eligible Travel Transactions” includes all posted transactions with the single Net Transaction Amount of at least HK$500 (or equivalent) at merchants which are classified as “Airline”, “Lodging” or “Travel Agencies” according to the merchant codes issued by VISA International, Mastercard Asia/Pacific (Hong Kong) Limited and UnionPay International.
    • c. “Eligible Dining Transactions” includes all posted transactions with the single Net Transaction Amount of at least HK$500 (or equivalent) at merchants which are classified as “Restaurant” according to the merchant codes issued by VISA International, Mastercard Asia/Pacific (Hong Kong) Limited and UnionPay International. It excludes transactions made in private room events, dining outlets in department stores and associations or other any other merchants that are not defined as a restaurant.
    • d. “Eligible Clothing/Footwear Store Transactions” includes all posted transactions with the single Net Transaction Amount of at least HK$500 (or equivalent) at merchants which are classified as “Apparel and Accessories” merchants and excludes transactions made at “Department Stores”, according to the merchant codes issued by VISA International, Mastercard Asia/Pacific (Hong Kong) Limited and UnionPay International.
    • e. “Eligible Electronics Transactions” includes all posted transactions with the single Net Transaction Amount of at least HK$500 (or equivalent) at merchants which are classified as “Electronics” according to the merchant codes issued by VISA International, Mastercard Asia/Pacific (Hong Kong) Limited and UnionPay International.
    • f. “Eligible Online Grocery Transactions” includes all posted online transactions with the single Net Transaction Amount of at least HK$500 (or equivalent) at designated merchants. Designated merchants include HKTVmall, ParKnShop eShop and payments through Alipay and WeChat Pay that are classified as “Food and Groceries” according to the merchant codes issued by VISA International, Mastercard Asia/Pacific (Hong Kong) Limited and UnionPay International.
  6. To be entitled for “Extra Rebate”, Cardholders are required to accumulate 5 or more Eligible Transactions in a Phase within any of the spending categories listed under “Eligible Transaction” in clause 5.
    • a. Each Cardholder is eligible for a 8% Extra Rebate on the Net Transaction Amount for each “Eligible Foreign Currency Transactions at Overseas Physical Store”. As long as the Eligible Transaction is made using foreign currency at overseas physical store (regardless whether it is categorized as travel transaction, dining transaction, clothing /footwear stores transactions, electronics transactions or online groceries transactions), it will be eligible for a 8% Extra Rebate and counted as one eligible transaction.
    • b. For other Eligible Transactions, each cardholder is eligible for a 6% Extra Rebate on the Net Transaction Amount.
  7. Each Cardholder is entitled a maximum of HK$500 Extra Rebate per Phase, and a maximum of HK$2,000 Extra Rebate during the entire Promotion Period regardless of the number of Citi Credit Cards used.
  8. Eligible Transactions made on the same day with the same merchant would only be considered as one Eligible Transaction only.
  9. Ineligible Transactions” include but not limited to, transactions made through PayMe, cash advance, “Dynamic Currency Conversion non-online transactions”, i.e. transactions with conversion from a foreign currency into Hong Kong Dollars involved at the point of the transaction, purchase of cash vouchers, purchase/add value of gift cards, purchase/reload of stored value cards, traveler’s checks, foreign exchange transactions using Credit Card (for example but not limited to Forex.com, etc.), all payments made by Octopus AAVS (including Mobile Wallet Top-Up), Citi PayAll, auto payment and recurring transactions, mutual funds payment, insurance transactions, casino transactions, unposted/cancelled/refunded transactions, other unauthorized transactions and fraud and abuse transactions. Transactions with refund of any amount will be deemed ineligible.
  10. Eligible Transactions effected through principal and supplementary cards under the same Citi Credit Cards account will be combined.
  11. Citibank will determine the eligibility of Eligible Cardholders to participate in this promotion as well as the transactions based on Citibank’s record, and at the sole and absolute discretion of Citibank. If transactions are confirmed to be qualified for Extra Rebate after verification by Citibank at its sole and absolute discretion, Extra Rebate will be rounded up to the nearest digit and credited to the Citi Credit Card with the highest spending in Eligible Transactions (“Cardholder’s Designated Credit Card”) on or before April 30, 2024.
  12. Citibank will determine a merchant’s category based on the Merchant Category Code of the Eligible Transaction posted according to the merchant codes issued by VISA International, Mastercard Asia/Pacific (Hong Kong) Limited and UnionPay International.
  13. Eligible Cardholders must keep and submit the relevant original credit card sales slips and original merchant sales receipts in respect of the Eligible Transactions for inspection upon request by Citibank. All documents submitted to Citibank will not be returned.
  14. Cardholders’ Citi Credit Card accounts used for Eligible Transactions must be valid and with good credit record during the Promotion Period and the fulfillment period in order to be eligible to receive any Extra Rebate; otherwise, Citibank reserves the right to forfeit the Extra Rebate without prior notice.
  15. In case of any fraud/abuse/reversal or cancellation of transactions in respect of which Extra Rebate were rewarded, Citibank reserves the right to debit the equivalent amount of Extra Rebate from the Cardholder’s Designated Credit Card account without prior notice.
  16. Citibank reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions or withdraw or terminate this promotion at its discretion without prior notice and Citibank accepts no liability for such amendment, withdrawal or termination. All matters and disputes are subject to the final decision of Citibank.
  17. In the event of any discrepancy between the English and Chinese versions of these terms and conditions, the English version shall prevail. If there is any discrepancy between the promotional materials and these Terms and Conditions, these Terms and Conditions shall apply and prevail.
  18. No person other than the Cardholders and Citibank will have any right under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Ordinance to enforce or enjoy the benefit of these terms and conditions.
  19. These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
